
CE STANDARD FOR FOOTWEAR
Standard EN 13634
Standard EN 13634 “Protective footwear for motorcyclists” defines the precise, replicable framework based on scientific studies of accidentology for the conduct of tests to certify protective footwear for motorcyclists. The 2010 version of standard EN 13634 has been replaced by version EN-16364-2015.
2 performance levels are specified for footwear:
Level 1 : minimum level to ensure effective protection in case of an accident and to provide an optimum level of comfort for all types of driving.
Level 2 : designed to ensure elevated performance levels of protection in relation to the type of driving.
