DIFFERENT EC REGULATIONS ACCORDING TO THE PRODUCT CATEGORY

CEThe CE marking guarantees that products conform to directive 89/686/EC and the prerogatives of decree 2009-890 Sport and Leisure which stipulates that these articles are deemed to be Personal Protection Equipment type 2 which are intended to reduce the risk of slight physical damage by the user during sports or leisure activities.

TEST CRITERIA NECESSARY FOR CE APPROVAL

For each product category, a European standard defines the precise framework for carrying out tests that are replicable and based on scientific studies of accidentology:

MECHANICAL TESTS

IMPACT :
Test simulating the impact of sliding over paving. A weight is released onto the material and a sensor measures the residual energy.

ABRASION : Test simulating the impact of sliding over paving. The material is brought into contact with a moving abrasive paper strip and a sensor is triggered when the material is completely abraded.

TEARING : Test simulating the clothes tearing during a slide. 2 clamps hold the material and move away from each other. A sensor measures the force required to tear the material.

PERFORATION (Cut) : Test simulating the penetration of a sharp object during a fall. A blade is released and a sensor measures the depth of the perforation.

RUPTURE : The material is affixed to an inflatable pocket which is then filled with water. The sensor measures the water pressure required for a rupture to occur.

SEAM : The seams are tested for tensile strength.
